1. Who we are

Dossier is published by Muhammad Jaisal P P, trading as Dexaloop, an independent developer. For data protection purposes, Muhammad Jaisal P P is the data controller for the limited processing described here.

2. What this covers

This policy covers the mobile app Dossier — Resume Builder & CV Maker on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Dexaloop's other apps are covered by the general Dexaloop privacy policy; this page exists because Dossier handles documents rather than game progress, and deserves to be described accurately rather than by analogy.

3. What stays on your device

Dossier is an offline app. Everything below is written to your phone's own storage, inside the app's private area, and is never transmitted to us. We have no server that could receive it and no account system that could identify you:

• Your resumes and CVs — every field you type, including your name, contact details, employment history, education, qualifications, licences, and anything you enter in a custom section
• Your cover letters
• Your profile — the name, email, phone and region entered during the introduction, reused so you do not retype them on each new document
• Any photo you add to a resume
• Your settings — theme, font, accent colour, paper size and similar preferences
• A record of your purchase, so the app knows Premium is unlocked
• Counters used for our own fairness rules, such as how many optional reward videos have been watched

Some of these are special category or sensitive information in certain countries — a date of birth, a photograph, a nationality, a marital status, a passport number where a Gulf or Indian CV format calls for one. Dossier asks for these only where the format you chose expects them, every one of them is optional, and all of them stay on your device under exactly the same terms as everything else.

Deleting the app deletes all of it. Because we never receive a copy, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf and nothing we could restore if you lose your phone. Your device's own backup system may include this data; that is between you and Apple or Google.

4. Photos and the camera

If you add a photo to a resume, Dossier asks permission to open your photo library or camera. The image you pick is copied into the app's own storage so the resume can render it. No other photo is read, nothing is uploaded, and the permission can be refused or withdrawn at any time in your phone's settings — the app works without it, and several resume formats never show a photo at all.

5. Exporting and sharing

Exporting a PDF happens entirely on your device. The file is created locally and handed to your phone's own share sheet, where you choose what happens to it — save it, email it, send it to an employer. Dossier does not upload it, does not keep a copy outside the app, and does not know where you sent it. Once you share a file, the app or service you shared it with applies its own terms.

6. Backups

Dossier can write a .dossier backup file containing your documents. It is created on your device and saved wherever you choose to put it. This version does not encrypt it — the file is an ordinary archive, and anyone holding it can open it. Password protection is planned for a later update, and the app says which behaviour applies before it writes the file.

That matters because a resume can hold your address, date of birth, photograph and, on Gulf and India formats, a passport number. Keep the file somewhere only you can reach. If you place a backup in a cloud folder, that provider's terms then apply to it.

7. Information collected by others

We run no servers and no analytics of our own. Two third parties may receive limited information.

Advertising — Google AdMob

Dossier shows optional reward videos only. There are no banners, no interstitials and no ads that appear without you choosing to watch one — a reward video is offered when you want to unlock a Premium theme for a single export. If you never tap one, and you are offline, no ad request is made.

When you do watch one, Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) may process:

• Your device's advertising identifier — the Google Advertising ID on Android, or the Identifier for Advertisers on iOS, and on iOS only if you allow tracking
• Technical device information such as model, operating system version, language, IP address and the coarse location derived from it
• Information about the ad shown, including whether you watched it through

Google acts as an independent controller for this. See Google's advertising privacy information and how Google uses data from apps that use its services. On iOS you will see Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking identifier is used, and declining is a perfectly ordinary answer that simply yields non-personalised ads.

The contents of your resume are never sent to any advertising service. Ads are never targeted using what you have written.

Buying Premium removes advertising from Dossier permanently.

Purchases — the App Store and Google Play

Premium is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or receive your name, address, card details or any payment information. We receive a confirmation that a purchase completed, and aggregate sales reports from the stores.

App distribution

Apple and Google collect their own data when you download, install or update the app, and give us anonymous aggregate statistics such as install counts and crash reports. These cannot identify you.

8. Your choices and controls

• Never watch an ad. Reward videos are entirely optional and nothing in the app is gated behind watching one — exporting your resume as a clean, unwatermarked PDF is free and unlimited without ads.
• Turn off personalised ads. iOS — Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Android — Settings › Google › Ads.
• Remove advertising entirely by purchasing Premium.
• Refuse photo access. The app works without it.
• Use the app with no internet connection at all. Everything except ads and purchases works offline.
• Delete everything by deleting a resume in the app, or by uninstalling the app, which erases all of it.

9. Children and students

Dossier is a tool for job and course applications and is intended for a general audience, including students old enough to apply for work or university. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Advertising in Dossier is configured for a general audience.

10. Your legal rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because Dossier holds no accounts and we keep no server-side copy of anything you write, the fastest routes are the direct controls in section 8: your data is on your device, and deleting the app erases it.

For information held by Google as an advertising partner, use Google My Ad Center. You may also write to mjaisal.dev@gmail.com. If you are in the EEA or UK you may complain to your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

11. Retention

Your documents stay on your device until you delete them. We hold no personal data ourselves, so there is nothing for us to retain or erase on request. Google and the app stores apply their own retention periods, described in their policies.

12. International transfers

Your resumes are not transferred anywhere. Our third-party providers operate globally and may process the limited advertising and purchase information described above in countries other than yours, including the United States, under the safeguards set out in their own policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the app changes or when the law requires it, and the date at the top will change with it. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's store listing update notes.
