I lost my resumes

Dossier stores everything on your device and nowhere else. That is deliberate — it is why there is no account and why nothing you write is ever sent anywhere — but it also means we hold no copy that could be restored.

If you still have the phone, check whether the app was deleted; deleting it removes the documents with it. If you made a backup, open the app and use Backup & Restore to bring it back.

Make a backup now if you have not. Open the menu at the top right of the Resumes screen, choose Backup & Restore, and save the file somewhere you control.

Is my backup protected?

Not in this version. A backup is an ordinary archive, and anyone holding the file can open it. Keep it somewhere only you can reach — not a shared drive or a work laptop — because a resume can carry your address, date of birth, photograph and, on some formats, a passport number.

Password-protected backups are planned for a later update.

If you have a backup made by an earlier version that was protected, keep the file. This version cannot open it, and it will tell you so rather than reporting it as damaged; a future update will read it again.

The PDF is not what I expected

Tap the preview in the editor to see the document at full size, every page, exactly as it will export. If the layout is not what you want, try a different theme in Design — a two-column theme reflows very differently from a single-column one.

If an employer's software has read your resume oddly, open Review and then the parser view. It shows the real text pulled back out of your exported PDF, in the order software reads it. If that order looks wrong, a single-column ATS-safe theme will usually fix it.

I paid for Premium and it is not unlocked

Open the menu at the top right, choose Premium, and tap Restore a previous purchase. That asks the App Store or Google Play directly, which is where the record lives — we never see your payment.

Restoring works on any device signed in to the same store account. If it still does not unlock, write to us with the date of purchase and we will help.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us, because the payment was taken by them. On iOS use reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android use the Play Store order history.

I do not want to see ads

Dossier only ever shows optional reward videos, and nothing is locked behind watching one — exporting your resume as a clean, unwatermarked PDF is free whether you watch an ad or not. Buying Premium removes advertising entirely. See your privacy choices for how to turn off personalised advertising without paying anything.

Something is missing, or wrong

Tell us. A resume format that does not match what employers expect where you live is a bug, not a preference, and it is the kind of report that improves the app for everyone applying in that country.
