Haqdar privacy policy

1. Who we are

Haqdar is published by Muhammad Jaisal P P, trading as Dexaloop, an independent developer. Haqdar is a labour-rights app for workers in Bahrain: it shows what the labour law says a worker is entitled to, with the article behind each figure, and where to go for help.

2. What stays on your phone

Everything you enter is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage, which the operating system keeps separate from other apps. That includes:

• your job details, employer's name, contract terms, start date and wage, and any earlier jobs you record;
• the hours, overtime, rest days and public holidays you log, and your shifts;
• leave you record, and how it was paid;
• payslip checks, your salary record and the expenses you note;
• disciplinary records and incident notes you write;
• the expiry dates of your documents, and any copies of them you choose to add;
• every figure the app calculates from the above.

None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. We have no server that could receive it.

3. The camera, photos and files

You may, if you wish, keep a copy of a document — a photograph or a PDF. The app asks for the camera only when you choose "Take a photo", and opens the photo or file picker only when you choose one. The copy is saved inside the app's own storage on your phone. It is never uploaded. The app does not read your photo library beyond the single item you pick.

4. Information about family members

You may record the expiry dates of a family member's documents, with their name and, if you choose, a copy. This is kept on your phone on exactly the same terms as your own information, and is never sent anywhere.

5. What the app downloads and sends

The app downloads published content from our content server: the current rules of law, the directory of offices, and notices. These requests carry no account, no name and no personal data, and our server keeps no log of individual readers. Images in notices are fetched from the address given in the notice.

The app sends no usage events and no analytics. If anonymous, aggregate counters for notices are ever added, this page will be updated before they ship, and they will carry no identifier for you or your device.

6. Notifications

There are two kinds. Reminders — a document about to expire, the day before you return from leave, a shift about to start — are scheduled on your phone by the app itself and involve no server.

Notices about changes in the law or official announcements are delivered through Apple's and Google's push services using Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google). Readers are addressed by topic — a country and a language — never individually. To make delivery possible, Firebase holds a push token for your device. This is a device identifier that is not linked to you and is used for app functionality only. The app never reads that token and never sends it to us. Google's handling of it is described in Firebase's privacy information. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.

7. Sharing and the evidence pack

Share cards carry an article of law and a download link. They never carry your wage, your dates or any figure derived from them.

The evidence pack is a PDF of your own records, made on your phone. It goes only where you send it, through your phone's own share sheet. We never receive it.

8. Face ID, the widget and hiding figures

Your figures are hidden when the app opens unless you choose otherwise. You can require Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode to reveal them; this is handled entirely by the operating system, and the app receives only a yes or a no. The home-screen widget shows your next shift, overtime hours and payday; the entitlement amount on it can be hidden.

9. Erasing your information

"Clear my details" in Settings removes everything you entered, including document copies, from your phone. Deleting the app does the same. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing further for us to delete.

If your phone is backed up by Apple or Google, the app's storage may be included in that backup under your own account and their terms.

10. What is not in the app

No account, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, no advertising network, no advertising identifier, no crash reporter and no location tracking. Notices in the feed that are paid for are labelled as such; they are part of the published content and involve no tracking of readers.

11. Children

The app is intended for working adults and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone.

12. Your rights

Data protection laws, including Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law and the GDPR where it applies, give you rights over personal data held about you. Because Haqdar holds none, those rights are exercised on your own phone: you can see, correct and erase everything yourself. If you believe we hold anything about you, write to us and we will answer.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new date. A change that affects what leaves your phone will also be announced in the app.
